Colvin Auto Glass Limited Warranty
Colvin Auto Glass stands behind every windshield replacement, chip repair, and ADAS recalibration we perform. Below are the full terms of our limited warranty.
Our Warranty
Colvin Auto Glass warrants its windshield replacement work against defects in material and workmanship for the lesser of: (1) as long as you own or lease the vehicle the windshield was installed on (nontransferable); or (2) three years or 36,000 miles. Auto glass damage resulting from vehicle collision, auto theft, vandalism, owner negligence, and/or natural disaster is specifically excluded from this warranty.
All other warranties, express or implied, are hereby disclaimed, including those of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Colvin Auto Glass must be allowed to inspect the vehicle prior to approval of any warranty claim.
Windshield Chip Repair Guarantee
A completed chip repair is guaranteed against continued cracking from the point of the original damage, and we warrant that the repair will pass any state windshield inspection required in Oregon.
If the repaired chip continues to crack, or you are not satisfied with the finished repair for any reason, we will apply the cost of your repair as credit toward a full windshield replacement performed by Colvin Auto Glass.
If your insurance company paid for the original repair, that credit may be applied to your insurer's benefit, and you may still be responsible for your deductible if you move forward with a replacement.
In some cases, through no fault of our technicians, damage can spread during the repair process and require a full replacement instead. This outcome is not covered under the chip repair guarantee, and any additional replacement cost is not included.
ADAS Recalibration Guarantee
When Colvin Auto Glass performs ADAS recalibration, that calibration is guaranteed for 30 days after the service, or until your next recalibration event, whichever happens first.
A recalibration event is any incident your vehicle manufacturer defines as requiring a new calibration, including a collision, a subsequent windshield replacement, disconnection or removal of the camera, or a wheel alignment.
Recalibration restores your vehicle's advanced safety systems to the manufacturer's specification, but those systems are not a substitute for safe driving, and you remain responsible for operating your vehicle safely at all times.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
- Contact Colvin Auto Glass within 30 days of discovering the issue. We are not responsible for damage that results from a delayed report.
- Bring the vehicle in so we can inspect the issue before any warranty claim is approved.
- Have your original invoice or receipt available. All warranty claims require proof of the original service.
All warranty claim calls and emails are handled directly by the Colvin Auto Glass department. Call (503) 472-6126 or email autoglass@colvinauto.com to start a claim.
This warranty is not transferable if you sell or lease the vehicle to someone else. It is separate from any manufacturer or extended vehicle warranty you may also hold.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
- Damage present on the vehicle before our service began. We document the vehicle's condition, including any existing damage, before starting work.
- Rust, corrosion, or frame damage discovered once the old glass is removed. If this kind of damage would prevent a safe installation, you are responsible for the cost of repairing it, including transporting the vehicle to a qualified body shop if needed, before we can complete the installation.
- Damage caused by a later accident, misuse, or an aftermarket modification made after our service was completed.
- Any other express or implied warranty beyond what is stated in this policy.
- Any damage to the vehicle that existed prior to service.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Oregon law, Colvin Auto Glass and Chuck Colvin Ford Nissan are not liable for incidental, indirect, special, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages, diminution in value, or consequential damages related to a glass repair or replacement, whether such damages were foreseeable, whether or not any party was advised of the possibility of such damages, or the legal or equitable theory (contract, tort, or otherwise) on which the claim is based.
